City Investment Reaches Rp 48.6 Trillion in First Semester of 2017

In first semester of 2017, investment realization in Jakarta has reached Rp 48.6 trillion. It has increased 63.1 percent from the same period last year, Rp 29.8 trillion.

Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service (PMPTSP) Dept. Head, Edy Junaedi said, this year's achievement is escalating by higher investment in the second quarter. 

He explained, during second quarter of 2017, investment realization in Jakarta is obtained from domestic investment (PMDN) Rp 10.2 trillion. This number is higher by 96.2 percent from the same period in 2016 which is just Rp 5.2 trillion. While, incoming foreign investment (PMA) is Rp 14.6 trillion, 2.8 percent higher compared to the same period in 2016 with amount Rp 14.2 trillion.

"We provide various service innovations to give easiness in business, acceleration on realization, and investment permission certainty. We hope this could improve the investment realization," he said on Saturday (8/5).

He mentioned, Jakarta investment realization from PMDN and PMA in the second quarter of 2017 is Rp 24.8 trillion. This number gives contribution 14.5 percent to total investment in Indonesia for this second quarter, Rp 170.9 trillion.

This achievement, he continued, makes Jakarta and West Java as provinces with the highest investment realization (PMDN and PMA) based on project location. 

"Foreign investor is mostly interested in housing, industrial, and office sectors," he closed.
